Mauri Pekkarinen (MEE): The Opportunities of Finnish Real Estate and Construction

"Finnish companies have not yet managed to take advantage of the potential of the global economy," says Minister Mauri Pekkarinen, Minister of Employment and Economy.

"In comparison to European nations, the [real estate and construction] sector has not adequately invested into development and new innovative solutions. In the energy efficiency of housing and property construction, for instance, Germany, Switzerland and Austria are well ahead of Finland. Also, the networking or cooperation of industry firms as well as their cooperation with universities and research organization has been relatively lower than in other industries."
