Aulis Kohvakka: Cluster Success Through Small-Country Strengths

The Vision 2010 process has been made possible by the "small country advantage" because the key actors know each other, says Aulis Kohvakka, Managing Director of Senate Properties. In May 2008, he was also selected Chairman of the Finnish Association of Building Owners and Construction Clients (RAKLI).

"Certainly, one of the key drivers of the real estate and construction cluster has been the multiyear process of Vision 2010, which has sought to map the future trajectories. In the process, it became quite clear that we are all part of the one and same process. In this process, construction is only one stage of real estate management. Almost naturally, this gave rise to the idea that real estate and construction industries would begin to develop a cluster in which real estate and construction would explore issues of joint interest."
